Living Cheap Blog
2/8/05 Morning.  I realized this Blog has not been updated in quite a while.  I have found some great programs and techniques for making money, which I will be mentioning in the UltraNews letter.  I can't even begin to describe how exciting this is.  It's kind of like hitting the lottery, except the odds of winning are much greater.  Some affiliates programs I am using have real time statistics.  This allows me to see what ads are working, and how well.

10/29/04 Evening.  Been busy enough with some other sites.  Sorry for the long time between updates.  I have been experimenting with more techniques involved in site promotion and making money on line.  There are literally thousands, if not tens of thousands of offers on the internet claiming to make you a fortune, quickly.  Most of them are total fraud.  If they made as much money as they claimed, everyone on the planet would be a millionaire.  Of course at which time a value meal at burger thing would cost $3,289.00.  I am convinced that there is a feeding frenzy going on with a fairly large group of people placing each other on their mailing lists, trying to sell anything to the same people that are trying to sell things to them.  This is really stupid.  I have had some real people sign up for our newsletter.  That is my one bright star of hope.  I do not want this site to shovel crap to the other people trying to do the same to me.  This site is designed to give good advice to people to help raise their standard of living.  OK, it's got some unusual humor- but that's just to keep people interested.  Besides, when you're broke, laughter is free.

Speaking of laughter- I've noticed that some of the people that promote this garbage apparently spend a lot more time a this than most people work.  I hope they are making money.

8/14/04  Morning.  I have been updating the main site (syraction.com, a regional site for central NY) plus adding some stuff for this site.  Of course I have been working on the newsletters.  I will have a lot of info for the UltraNews , which is the infoletter for making money.  I have discovered some things about generating site traffic, in addition to some ideas for use of different techniques for affiliate advertising.

8/11/04  Morning: Last night I spent quite a bit of time updating the site.  I added one thing I have been trying to avoid.  I now have a pop under ad on one of the pages.  The product is relevant to the theme of this site.  I have never used a pop over/under before, because I think they are annoying.  I have always wondered if they were effective.  Please forgive me.

8/10/04  I've got a lot of catching up to do.  I started this site a couple of weeks ago with several (hopefully) related goals.  To help people get by on the income they have.  To help people increase their income.  And also to increase my income.  I have set up quite a few commercial sites, but the focus has never been anything like this.  I have seen a lot of ads on the internet for income opportunities, and wanted to find out if any of them work.  So I set up this site as a lab to test concepts.  I participate in banner exchanges, traffic generators, pay-per-click search engines, affiliate programs and anything else (within reason) that I can think of.  This takes an incredible amount of time.  I am trying to promote this site, while spending the least amount of money possible, so that I can pass tips on to others who want to start their own business with little or no investment.  My time is worth something, so I have set up the UltraNews InfoLetter for people that are willing to subscribe in exchange for my passing on info of what really works.  In order to increase my mailing list reach, I am offering a free, or reduced price signup for referring people to the newsletter.  Of course some of the things I sign up for cost money, so the one time fee for the InfoLetter helps fund this.  The standard newsletter (free) will focus on saving money.  The first issues are due out 8/15/04.
